About SAILD

The Saudi Association for Interstitial Lung Disease (SAILD), a subsidiary of the Saudi Thoracic Society comprises a highly dedicated group of multidisciplinary physicians (lung specialists, chest radiologists, pathologists, thoracic surgeons and rheumatologists), nurses, respiratory therapists, and support staff who share a common interest in the field of interstitial lung disease. They aim to promote the awareness and the knowledge of interstitial lung diseases for patients and physicians.

Mission

To collaborate and lead national and international initiatives in the diagnosis and management of interstitial lung disease including education and health promotion, training, research and promotion of evidence- based practice.

Vision

  1. Become a regional leader and global participant in the diagnosis and management of interstitial lung diseases and contributor to the advancement of knowledge in the field.

 

  1. Become the trusted resource pertaining to interstitial lung disease in the Kingdom and in the Gulf Region.

Objectives

In conjunction with the Saudi Thoracic Society (STS), it is the objective of the Saudi Association for Interstitial Lung Disease (SAILD) to:

  1. Facilitate collaboration among health care professionals and organizations with interest in interstitial lung disease.
  2. Enhance evidence based practice by the development, dissemination and implementation of guidelines relevant to the region.
  3. Conduct research projects to help better understand and manage ILD in the region.
  4. Conduct training workshops to improve standards in patient care and encourage interest from trainees.
  5. Conduct educational activities for health care professionals and the public

Fellowship Program

King Saud University Interstitial Lung Diseases
Fellowship Training Program

      Requirements:

  • Updated Curriculum Vitae.
  •  Certificate of basic medical qualification such as the MBBS or equivalent degree.
  • Saudi Medical License (SCFHS – Saudi Council Card).
  •  Saudi Board in Internal Medicine certificate, Arab Board in Internal Medicine certificate or an acceptable equivalent.
  • King Saud Fellowship or Saudi Commission for Health Specialties in Pulmonary Medicine.
  • Personal interview and/or a selection examination.
  • Sponsor letter (if working outside King Saud University Medical City) for the duration of the program.
  • Fulfill the requirements of the Post Graduate Medical Education regulations and payments.
