What is SABRONA?

SABRONA: Saudi Bronchiectasis Association, a subsidiary group of The Saudi Thoracic Society

Introduction to SABRONA

Bronchiectasis is still an orphan with regard to clinical suspicion, commercial interest, and
certainly research activity. Recognizing the need for improved care of bronchiectasis, the Saudi Thoracic Society (STS) formed Saudi Bronchiectasis Association Group (SABRONA) to develop a Best Practice Guide for the management of bronchiectasis to optimize the prevention, early diagnosis, and management of this disease in Saudi Arabia.

Mission

SABRONA: Saudi Bronchiectasis Association, a subsidiary group of The Saudi Thoracic Society is devoted to increase the awareness and knowledge of the neglected orphan disease: (Noncystic fibrosis bronchiectasis)

Objectives

  • To develop the Saudi Best Practice Guide for the Management of Noncystic fibrosis bronchiectasis
  • To provide practical guidance to family physicians, specialists, and other health care professionals involved in Noncystic fibrosis bronchiectasis management
  • To establish effective preventive measures and therapies, accessible to the affected patients using well prepared brochures and other media.
  • To provide consultative services to health agencies and industry regarding the management of bronchiectasis
  • To optimize the prevention, early diagnosis, and management of Noncystic fibrosis bronchiectasis in Saudi Arabia.
